Moroni offers the Lamanites an ultimatum: they can give up their weapons and go home if they promise never to come back, or they can fight to the death. Initially, the Lamanites refuse to surrender, but eventually they are so badly beaten that they agree to Moroni's terms. (The fact that this Lamanite army swore never to invade the Nephite lands again becomes very important in Alma 47.)
