The Nephite dissenters got frustrated in their attempts to conquer the main Nephites, so they decided to once again take their anger out on the Anti-Nephi-Lehies. Ammon prayed and was directed to take the Anti-Nephi-Lehies to Zarahemla for safety. It's during this journey that they met up with Alma, bringing this flashback to a close (see Alma 17). After that, the Nephites gave the Anti-Nephi-Lehies a land called Jershon and promised to protect them.
